Our Molecular Biology lab is supervised by a team of specialist consultants and lead by qualified and experienced molecular biology scientists with recommendations, assistance and instructions from Molecular Biology labs at leading government medical bodies in Sri Lanka to guarantee that the reports we issue are accurate and trustworthy.

We operate on a stringent set of protocols using the industrys latest technologies and most recognised instruments from the worlds top brands for RT-PCR such as Bio-Rad, Qiagen, Thermo-Fisher, PHCBi (Panasonic), all of which are approved by NMRA. During Sampling, Melsta Labs adheres strictly to protocols developed by the Epidemiology unit of the Ministry of Health of Sri Lanka to ensure that correct procedures, sanitation and personal protection are achieved.

Our Molecular Biology laboratory floor was designed from ground-up to comply with guidelines set by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), with dedicated Pre-Analytical area, extraction area, Pre-PCR room, PCR Room, Post- PCR & Reporting Areas, Sample Storage facilities and the industrys most recognised sterility system which gives us the unprecedented ability to guarantee safety of all personnel, equipment and medical waste disposal. All medical waste is autoclaved and disposed in accordance to WHO medical waste management protocols through Government approved waste management service providers.
